***MAMA MIA***

I have never posted a new post for a Friday Matinee movie review before....not even a Friday Matinee on Monday. But Mama Mia! which is better than saying Holy Crap, or thatsa one-a spicy meata ball!

I want to tell you all how wonderful this movie is...but I'm afraid to get carried away! Of course it's about a mother who had too many hormones in her younger days and too many men in one week! But honestly? Mother Theresa's whole legacy could have gone down the tubes if she...well you know what I mean.

Donna (Meryl)and her two BFF are a real hoot. The props and innuendo are hilarious and will have
you rolling in the aisles.

I went to an early showing, and it wasn't very full. Of course the new Batman movie opened today too, and some monkey movie which attracted a ton of preschoolers on buses.

The music by
ABBA was the bomb!

Now, I'm not exactly an extrovert, but by the end of the movie I couldn't control myself, and I did something that I wanted to do throughout the movie, but was too shy...at first...yep, I started clapping...then others clapped...I got up and danced...and so did most of the other movie goers! We had a real hootenanny going on! But, please, don't let any of
my kids know, they would be so embarrassed.

So faithful
readers? Let me know if you let go and jump up and dance like Grandma J. I dare you...actually, I don't think it will take much at all.

And oh yeah....the men! hot, hot, hot! Especially my secret heartthrob and my BBFFWTF!

I went to see an ABBA tribute band (from Sweden, do does that make them more legit?) a few weeks ago and they kicked ass! ABBA is the best and seriously, I can't wait to see this movie (I am betting it is better than the play which sadly, sort of sucked... at least the production I saw...)

Colin Firth = SWOON!

OH NO YOU DON'T, GRANDMA J.!

Colin Firth is MY boyfriend for life. Ever since he was in Pride and Prejudice on A&E I claimed him as my very own....FOREVER.

I haven't seen am movie since Jimmy Carter was in office, but I will definitely be seeing this one based on your review.

CBW, Well, Colin never mentioned your name!

If you go see Mama Mia, promise you'll dance in the aisles! or at least clap.

Are you kidding, you are "not exactly an extrovert"???? REally???? UM, go to wikipedia and look up extrovert, and you will see your picture (and I dont mean that little avatar lady)...

Come on folks, those who know Grandma J in real life...is she anything but a 10 on the extrovert scale of the temperment inventory????

Danced in the aisles? I totally believe it, and admit it...you not only danced and clapped, but you said stuff to other movie goers while you were clapping and dancing..right?

BTW, when I saw the previews for that movie, Meryl Streep (and her life) reminded me of you!!

Do they have dance-a-thons at your compound?

I've seen the play twice and can't wait to see the movie. My hubby and cousin's hubby went to see Batman today. That said that was pretty good too, but not a kid movie at all!

I'd like to see this movie as well. But today, I got to see Batman - at the IMAX - for free! Yep, my company took us all and let my kids tag along. While I'm not much of a Batman fan, I have to admit it was a good movie (in my opinion). A little on the violent side, but everyone should know that.

YOU, Grandma J, are the BOMB! I love that you danced during the movie. The music is great and makes you want to dance. I am so glad it was worth it. I'm on my way.

..."Mamma mia, here I go again"
"My my, how can I resist you?"
"Mamma mia, does it show again?"
"My my, just how much I've missed you"...everybody sing! ;o)

...Yeah, I love that song and loved ABBA... I'm so glad to hear you give the movie a good review 'cause I would like to go and see it. Um, and I would go as far as clap - not so sure about the dance. A lil' wine? Then we talk. Either way, you go girl! lol...

...And who is Colin Firth? Cute photo btw... ;o)

...Blessings... :o)

I was coerced into seeing Mamma Mia (the play), which ended up being great... as for the movie version, sounds fun, though it's awkward to think of ol' Pierce trying to sing, yeeesh
