Living on the River

So many people were devastated by the ravaging floods along the Mississippi River.  Some had the foresight and the means to do what they had to do to protect their property.

Like building their very own levy

        Becoming an island unto themselves

Protecting their property from total destruction

Hopefully with a boat on site to shuttle the kids to school, go to work, and to get to town and back for daily essentials.

*My heartfelt prayers go out to the people of Joplin Missouri. Terrible devastation.

This is life along a river. Here in central PA, we are at the mercy of the Susquehanna River.
Take care, m.

Horrifying weather we've been having of late. At least we're here to see it, having not been raptured! :)
