A Movie Review
The Princess and the Frog

Grandma J loves a good princess movie, and no one does them up like Disney. Come to think of it, no one does Princess movies but Disney….hmmmm.

Someone wanted to go with Grandma J to see The Princess and the Frog.

Yes it was Margaret. She destroyed Grandma J’s makeup drawer getting all dolled up!

And dressed for the frigid weather.   But when they got to the theatre parking lot they noticed two busses chock full of preschoolers.   This was when Grandma J decided that Margaret, in her delicate physical condition...being shop worn ceramic, had to wait in the car.

The movie was fantastic! Well, there were few surprises as far as the story line went.  I mean Tiana was a poor girl in New Orleans, circa 1920’s.  She was best friends with Charlotte, the pampered spoiled daughter of Big Daddy La Bouff (John Goodman), a N’awlins mover and shaker.  As one might guess, Tiana’s mother Eudora (Oprah), worked for Big Daddy La Bouff.

Disney’s princess movies all pretty much follow the same theme. Good wins out over evil. Poor wins out over rich. All good, beautiful girls fall in love with a prince and live happily ever after.  Oh yeah, and all frogs can be princes if they find a pretty girl to kiss.

I’m not giving the story away, am I?  You can’t say too much about a Disney Princess movie without spoiling it.  I will say that I loved the characters, and the music was catching and good…just like you’d expect.   Ok, you do have to like jazz!

This movie gets four out of five frogs…because a perfect movie isn’t this predictable.

Well, I'd hope so, the good guys win! And yes, Disney is always predictable, but it's always Disney! ;-)

Margaret looks like a street corner Hen. Sorry.
Glad you liked this. I am also glad my girls don't want to see it. I am so over princess movies. Does that make me sound old and grouchy? Cause I am not old. Just grouchy. :)

I don't like princess movies unless their is an evil stepmother. I have tons of oven mitts, do you think Margaret would like them?

Margaret is so smokin' hot she has to wear a hot mitt!

You probably made a wise choice leaving her in the car. Preschoolers can be brutal, although they'd probably be far more understanding of one Grandma J. bringing a ceramic chicken into a movie theater than the teachers would.

That was actually me commenting above, not Ches. Bay Daughter. This is what happens when you share a computer and somebody forgets to log off.

I'm just curious how Margaret entertained herself while you callously left her alone to fend for herself in the car. I hope you told her the movie was terrible so she didn't feel bad about missing it.
