SWING VOTE
Molly Johnson tells her beer swigging, socially disfunctional dad, Bud, that he's ruining America!
Bud Johnson is a loveable loser, with a daughter who is determined to make a good voting citizen out of him. While the movie is a bit unrealistic, I give it high marks for being a political satire-ish movie while staying politically nuetral.
I liked the movie! I did't love it, but then it had a good cast of characters that I like, so for me, it would be hard not to like it. Kelsey Grammer plays the encumbant President running against Dennis Hopper. They are both good at portraying their respective candidates.
Kevin Costner does a pretty darn good job of exposing the phony platitudes and pandering of candidates, in a movie about bad news politicians and even badder parenting.

Thanks for the review.. I don't do a lot of movies but this is one that I did want to see.
So it's a thumbs up then?
thanks for the review.
I think I may wait for this one at blockbuster. I am paitent. :)
I've seen the ads and I thought it looked like a toss up...I couldn't tell if it was gonna be good or bad. Thanks for the review. You didn't sound enthusiastic enough for us to make a $20 real movie experience out of it...so I'll make it a renter or a $1 theater outing.
I am still trying to deal with the fact that you think Kelsey Grammer is hot...
I have to say, i was touched by Kevin Costner's speech at the end of the movie... I am an easy mark and cry during most movies...
We live SO far away from the movie theatre that it's not really worth the trip. When I see it on Pay Per View, I will think of you :)
