Does anyone remember my trip to Las Vegas last summer?

When I had to spend the night in the Houston Airport?

Do you remember Phillip? He was the keeper of the luggage closet and the only person around when I spent the night in the Anchorage Airport last September.

Here's the airlines' dirty little secret....it's always weather related because if it weren't....they would have to compensate you.

A couple of years ago I flew home to TX on Dec. 23rd on United. I ended up spending the night somewhere in South Carolina (put up in a hotel without any of my luggage or personal items). The next morning, they said I might be able to get a flight to St. Louis where I could possibly go to Texas from there. When I tried to call their 1-800 number, they said the wait to speak to someone was 120 minutes - that's right, 2 hours! I did manage to make it home before Christmas, but that experience taught me to always bring a clean pair of underwear, my phone charger, and my contact stuff in my carry-on. Sorry about your trip - hope you get there eventually!

Awww, I'm sorry :( We had to spend the night (me, my hubby and 2 kids) in the Atlanta airport once. It sucked! Hope you get where you're going!

Oh, dear, I'm sorry. Here's the thing, though. I have found that life's pains or troubles inspire incredible creativity.

Or, they make you eat chocolate.

Or, they make you drink wine.

Or all of the above.

Grandma D - The real question is: Where is Philip Johnny Bob and how is HE coping with said delay?

p.s. Instead of focusing on how freaking frustrating the shituation is, because believe me, I know--see if you can find the person sitting around who really needs to be written about.

I know you can do it.

I knew something bad was going to happen. I just knew it. I didn't want to say it because I didn't want to bring it about, but I just knew... Hope everything gets worked out quickly. Kaish prayed for you this moring at breakfast.

I'm so sorry for you! My brother had a flight from New Orleans to Dubai (stopping briefly in Detroit and once in Paris). He was stranded in Detroit when he arrived there too late to catch the plane! He said, "No, I couldn't get stranded over night in Paris. No, it had to be Detroit!" He was livid. We think that flying is quicker and easier, but it comes with the chances of delays that we have no control over.... I hope the rest goes well!
