The movie is based on the Yates 1961 novel by the same name. The story is set in the 1950's......a young married couple, Frank and April Wheeler, played by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, try to overcome the normal suburban existence and do something more with their lives. It's about hopes and dreams and escaping the blah life.
I Like Kathy Bates, their Realtor, and her hunky dory character. Michael Shannon plays her son, her whacked out son, who is an odd force in the movie.
Anyway, tensions build with each fight Frank and April have. I love how they stay together through the unraveling of the story...but there is a twist, and this story isn't about Gidget Goes to Connecticut (where it's filmed) and marries Moondoggie. No, it's not.

OK. I am normally not one to get all excited about movies, but I actually do want to see this one. Thanks for the review!
(Have you contacted your local paper about writing reviews for them? You're really very good at it. You could at that to your ever-growing resume. Seriously.)
I have been waiting too!
Oh my, it was intense wasn't it! It was such a good movie but I left the theatre so depressed!
Kate and Leo were both great and I was surprised that neither were nominated for an oscar. However, I was thrilled to say the "crazy" guy nominated. He was soooo good and had such a great part in that movie.
Oh, goodie! I have to see this one! thanks, GramaJ
Revolutionary Road reminded me of Virginia Wolf. That Liz sure was a drunken biotch.
