How Did You Spend Your Spring Break?

Checking birth certificate. Then we are off to get our driver's permit. What a glorious day under God's heaven!

Paperwork in perfect order

Arriving at the Texas Department of Safety, 11:00 A.M. This should be a breeze....even if I pull number 12....and they are currently serving number 82. The wait will be worth it.

If you don't have your Social Security card, we can't help you. It doesn't matter that you have a military ID with your picture and SS # on it....because you aren't active duty. Besides, your grandmother is getting on my nerves.......NEXT!

Sad, but true.....we drive up to Temple Texas, and await a duplicate Social Security card.

It's 3:00 P.M. on the last day of my Spring Break....I'm in my second Texas Department of Safety office, because we dare not go back to the first office... and my grandmother has been told over and over, not to take pictures.

If my grandmother takes one more picture, they are gonna arrest her. Then I guess I'll have to drive her car home. Oh well!

YES!! I can now legally drive JJ around the neighborhood. Now, can we get some stimulus money to fix these potholes?

As usual, the Pretty Princess wins out in the end, and the whole Kingdom rejoices!

I am so happy for her...I am sure it was stressful for both of you. What a hassle...3 offices in ONE day???

I received my gift card yesterday, thank you.

After the day your granddaughter had, I think maybe she deserves it more. I will think of her when I use it.

Yeah Pretty Princess!! Congrats!!

And...dont worry, I went to the DMV yesterday too, and, just like you, encountered the moronic idiocracy that is the DMV. It's only fitting that you had to deal with it on your first day of driving...trust me, it wont be the last time.

Yeah for you!!

Thank you everyone for your congratulations for the Pretty Princess. Now, if anyone has a couple hours a week, and a hot car, she would love to drive you around town...maybe the mall!

Anonymous, I know who you are, and the reason JJ craps on your carpet is because he heard your trying to ship him off to his Grandma's house.

Nick, I can't wait to see that picture! my email is:

What an ordeal!!
I had the boy check on line to see what he needed- had it all...so I went to work and his sister took him to the DMV....and then I got a phone call- the DMV had not updated their webiste....(granted it was May,) and the new law took effect in JANUARY!! that he needed proof of enrollment in a behind the wheel driving class. So I had to make some calls, get some paperwork set for them to pick up and go BACK TO THE HELL OF THE DMV. All while I was teaching....the site never got updated! So much for checking beforehand!

SO my question is, how are the illegals getting driver's licenses if they don't have an SS#?

Congratulations!! And now the fun begins :)

3 government offices in one day??? oh my... you are a better one than me. That would have sent me right over the edge!
