JJ & Grandma J Get Fit......

I'm turning a new leaf.....again. This time JJ and I are gonna partner up and get fit together because, yeah, you guessed it, we are both out of shape.

Huh? Yes both of us. JJ just looks thin because he's the type that photographs thin.

You all know about all my previous attempts to diet. There was the Blogger Spank My Fanny Big Butt Smackdown Diet that Big Hair Envy hosted.

Grandma J went out and bought the look, to get psyched up.

She even hit the mechanical aids with a vengeance!

This time Grandma J and JJ decided to partner up with another pair who have it all together....

........ because by golly, this pair has nothing on JJ and Grandma J. And, don't you love how Grandma J jumps from the 1st person to the 3rd with the ease of a Jackal Yeah, I made that part up.

So....tell me, how do you stay in shape??

I have many shapes and that's the way I like it! LOL. Im what I would call a woman with "curves".

I don't. It's easier that way ;)

I have a shape. Unfortunately, that shape is round.

That dog is darn good at squats! I don't do squats, they are bad on the knees.

Too funny. I don't stay in shape...not any more anyway. I used to visit the gym faithfully and it really worked. But it just isn't any fun anymore and I am all about fun. And Jackals. ;0

I try to dance as exercise, but sometimes I just get too busy. I need to lose that excuse.

I agree with just about everything everyone else has said!! Although, just for my heart, I am walking more these days!

One of my friends send me this link (below) yesterday. I like the idea of eating real food vs chemicals:

I stay in shape by being a ROUND BALL of bubbly fat. Sad but true. I don't really have any excuse. I was in a car accident and my back and neck hurt all the time now. So I hate exercising. And, sadly, very, very sadly, I look like I hate exercising....
Now I have to go cry. Love, your round as a ball friend, Becky : )

Grandma J. - Walk. Even if it means taking JJ for a walk every single day, just walk.

Another good option is to join a Curves. You just might like it. They give you a couple of times to try it out for free (or something like that) just go in and inquire and say you're not sure what you want to do or what it's all about, and they will walk you through everything.

Trust me: a blog in and of itself could be written about my Curves but since all of them live locally I cannot risk what I'd really like to say.

However, it's one of the few places I've been that I could stick with. My mother goes too and likes it.

If it isn't for you though, just walk. 20-30 minutes a day. You will feel so much better.

Grandma J,

I walk a lot and some people think I should slow down. See it is hard for me to keep weight on, so I eat lots of very small meals. I do admit I have become thicker with age, but alas I am still skinny for the most part. Please don't hat me!

I loved the video and really needed the laugh!

Ha! Postcard Cindy is skinny and fit!! And she eats and is a good cook too!

As for me...if I want to eat and enjoy I have to ride my bike to work and then run a little on the side...I'm no Running Girl- I just pretend to be!

And as for my dog...he's fat! No squats for him! How does JJ do at squats?

Looks like I'm not alone.
CBW, I used to go to Curves! I loved it too. I love walking, but I am currently getting shots in my knee everyday, and we'll know next week if I need surgery. Yep, I will probably be the hobbler at the blogfest. There is a really nice gym here at the Spa, and I was really looking forward to using it, and will once we resolve the knee issue.

Cindy, eat, eat, eat. I was very thin and ate everyone under the table, but I was very active then too...

Marey, you are very fit and athletic. It's chasing all those booger pickers all day. I was thinking about Woody doing squats! HA! JJ probably could if he was trained, but he is becoming a very bossy dog!

Hey G.J.
I used to work out all the time thanks to my husband who is a work out fanatic. But now I kinda figure, who cares? If I got paid big bucks for looking good and if I had "people" that did everything for me and if I had a personal trainer (besides my husband), then maybe it would be worth it. But seriously, I try to do some yoga several mornings a week because it makes me feel better. The side effect is that it sort of tightens everything up. I'm also a believer in doing my own house work and yard work. The side effect of this is the little bit of muscle and aerobic workout it provides. Then I usually do some crunches after I take a bath/shower. That's about the extent, but done on a regular basis it seems to help. (didn't mean to go on so long about this)

good stuff there grandma j!!... i would rather see jj playin pass with a-ron though instead of doin' squats!!!!... and i prefer to simply exercise my brain, it cuts down on the soreness....

I no longer stay in shape. Florida has been visited this spring so now I won't worry about shape until next visit. Although, compared to many there, I may not even worry then.

The video of the dog doing squats is too much! I love it. As for me, I have a career job where I never sit down. Have a great weekend. ~Natalie
