Countdown to Blogfest

In just seven days, Grandma J will be on the first flight out of town on her way to the Chesapeake Bay. It's the first annual blogfest for the bloggers who are way too freaky cool for the other Blog event smack in the middle of nowhere the humid center of the country.

Yes, the majestic beauty of the coast of Virginia beckons Grandma J. She'll meet up with dozens of bloggers from all four corners of the earth. Corners like California, Texas, Connecticut and Margaritaville. Bloggers that are currently total strangers.....but not for long.

She'll be staying right on a creek full of an abundance of fiddler crabs and blue snakes wild sea life. So far there is only one problem....but don't fret, I'm sure there will be more as the week goes by.

Today, let's deal with the problem at hand, shall we?

This is Grandma J's suitcase. Yeah, it's too full. I need your help in narrowing down my choice of things to take with me. Let's start with my flip flops. I have three pair in that suitcase, and I probably only need one pair. But....which pair?

Pair #1 These are cute and feminine, don't ya think? I'm not sure the color red will go with everything though.

Pair #2 These look nice and comfy, and are sure to keep my feet warm. I wonder if they will be compatible with my swimwear?

Pair #3 These definitely say "Look at me, I'm near a pretty big body of water". Can I wear these in town?

Which ones should I take?

I vote for either removing the red bow on the first pair or taking the second pair. Brown and black go with everything.

HA!! Go with the fish ones, they'll blend right in around here. Just don't bite into any chunks of meat when you go swimming or you're liable to find yourself being reeled in by one of our over zealous fishermen!

The dress code is below casual, it's burlap sack and a string casual. I will be wearing flip flops to go out on our tours or whatever and barefoot around the house and yard. If you want to dress up (and by dressing up I mean going a step above burlap and a string to jean shorts or stretchy shorts or whatever is comfortable and still casual) then plan for something for Friday night's dinner. If the weather permits, Saturday night's dinner/cookout you'll be in a bathing suit and barefoot at the beach (weather permitting - if it rains then we'll go out somewhere). Something to sleep in, those fish flip flops, a towel, bug spray, bathing suit, toiletries (although I do have shampoo, etc.) and you're done.

If you forget something or need something, the local Dollar General sells a few clothes, shoes, etc. It's definitely not Dllards, but it's a whole lot cheaper.

One week. I'm in denial.

Wait a second. No one said anything to me about snakes.

Hmmmm. *wondering if CBW has snake bite kits at her place*

If you plan on bringing your beaver fur bikini, then I say go with #2.

Pack the first AND the last ones. Flip flops are thin. There's always room for one more pair. And those fish ones? Are FABULOUS!

I missed the part about "blue snakes" though. Probably because I'm still terrified of being attacked by Gustav.

Look forward to meeting you!

I'm going to go with door number 3.

THE FISH. Please bring them.

All this talk about barefootin' at CBW's place. People, have you forgotten about the rabid fiddler crabs? I for one am considering steel-toed boots to keep the crabs and ants away, and protect me from Gustav's goose poop.

Just sayin'.

You are so fun!
I say go with number 1.
The fur looks nice,
But your feet will need ice.
The fish are cool,
but the other bloggers will drool.
Number 1 can not be beat.
Put them on your stinky feet.
