Coexisting With Crusty

Crusty the crab is slowly driving me nuts trying to fit in here in Texas. It's a whole different culture here, and his choice of playmates is not something he is taking to lightly.

Back in his native Virginia, he had fiddler crabs and Bay Women to romp with...but here it's all about long horn cattle and buzzards.

We all remember how JJ gnawed the beegeezuz out of tried so hard to befriend Crusty.....to no avail.

Phillip Johnny Bob invited Crusty to church, but we know how that ended up too.

Grandma J's sweet granddaughter has been hanging with Crusty too, but JJ is her main man, so she meets up with Crusty at covert locations like the eye doctor's office.

Lately, Crusty has been hanging out in Grandma J's bathroom.......and by hanging she literally means hanging.

He loves this print Grandma J picked up in Mathew's VA, at Sibley's General Store. Does he think this is his mother? His bio mother?

So, Grandma J decided if Crusty wanted to hang out in the bathroom, then she was gonna work some training into this routine......

Yes, Crusty is potty trained!

And poor Phillip Johnny Bob is astounded and confused....because we all know what they say about bears.... and the woods.

GJ this is too funny! Crusty is just slow. He's not used to sharing. Your grand daughter is beautiful! And that PJB is just something else!
Cdub will love this!

Poor PJB

I truly believe that PJB could be potty trained as well. AND since he seems to be just a tad jealous at this latest news of Crusty's maybe now would be a good time to start. ;-)

Do I need to go to Roz's Island Market and buy another friend for Crusty? Not only is he looking lonely, but I'd say Team JJ is gnawing his eyeballs out.

Grandma J. really needs to do a post on her lovely HGTV-worthy bathroom. The towels, the Mathews County print, the crabs, the bears... oh my.

People! Really, they are just towels with some twine...plain old twine tied around them. My bathroom is dinky and plain.

JJ hasn't been around Crusty...but his eyes look tired...I'll have to spruce them up.

I love the print and your pretty towels. Can I use them when I visit? Of course I can, you won't even be home when I come over....
You cracked me up with the bear in the woods...have a great day!!!

That is so funny-I am just hoping the crab is plastic...
however-if it is real, it can come over to play with our REAL hermit crabs-
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog-I love this great country of ours so much-

Love how you have your towels hung .. so I am guessing you wash your hands and wipe them on your jeans/pants/shirt or just wave them in the air to dry cause you sure do not want to ruin what would be an excellent photo in House Beautiful or Architectural Digest ..

Do you have to untie and retie the twine? In this house no one would think of following Daryl's advice and using their pants to dry hands. The people here just wouldn't wash at all. That's my excuse for not using twine on my towels.

You are hilarious : ) So clever. I do love those towels. Do you want to help me decorate? I am a decorating failure. I would think I would be kind of good at it since I am creative but I am not. So I need you and some of your twine : )
