RIP Patrick



Patrick Wayne Swayze (August 18, 1952 - September 14, 2009)passed away Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf.

Patrick was an American actor, dancer and singer-songwriter. He was best-known for his roles as Orry Main in the North and South television miniseries, and as romantic leading men in the films Dirty Dancing and Ghost. He was listed by People magazine as its "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1991

Wow, 57 huh? So sad to hear about cancer battles, especially when I thought he had been doing better. RIP

I love Patrick and was hoping for a miracle for him. My Dad had pancreatic cancer, so I know how dreadful this cancer can be.

When I saw Dirty Dancing, I thought he was the most beautiful man in the world. I will pray for his family at this time of great loss.

My husband lives and dies by the movie, "Point Break". It is so strange to think that someone as strong and athletic as he was was brought so low in under two years. He really did battle as hard as he could with it, too.
