Christmas In January
It's what happens when you wait for a soldier to come home.
It's a routine homecoming full of pomp and circumstance that so many families are familiar with, but no one gets used to.
We thank God for all the returning 1ST Cavalry Soldiers. Especially Sgt John.
The next day, we celebrated our Christmas.
There was a real tree, but it died so the kids improvised and made their own. They all got jammies, the girls got more Uggs. There were acoustical guitars and iTouch from Santa.
Everyone was happy. Some had new haircuts.
Couples reunited again.
But guess who always gets the best seat in the house. Is anyone surprised?

Welcome home Sgt. John!!! Thanks to you and all of the other men and women who sacrifice every day for OUR freedom!
Is that a Blog Fest mug I see on the table?? :)
OH Merry Belated Christmas! Thank you Sgt John!
I sat next to another one our best on my flight home on Saturday. He was on his fifth day of travel from Iraq. He hadn't slept in days for the excitement of getting home. I walked with him to baggage claim and saw the family reunion--all I could do was cry.
God bless all these men and women!
halleluia! so glad he is home (for good? or just for christmas?) i don't even have to imagine all the good memories and love... because eric made it home just in time for christmas one year!
