Neither Sleet Nor Snow
can make Grandma J go to the Post Office

And that was her plan.   To finally mail out all the Aba Zaba candy bars to those of you who emailed Grandma J your address.

But.....when Grandma J got up it was snowing cats and dogs!  Surely this is a real honest to goodness "snow day".   WRONG!   The schools were open.

So, Grandma J took her granddaughter to school...with snow coming down fast and furious.

It was too early for the post office so Grandma J decided to wait one more day to mail out her stuff.

One hour later, Grandma J gets a text message....

School is out.

Grandma J looks out the window......she recalls how in second grade, she used to trek to and from her school in knee deep snow, in Rhode Island.   With any luck the lady down the street, that the she referred to as Mudpie Marie, would call her in to warm her hands on the radiator.

When Grandma J snapped out of it, she knew that wouldn't be an option for her granddaughter.

So it was back out  to brave the elements.   Just a reminder.  Grandma J doesn't live in the same town as her granddaughter's school.

Grandma J picks up her granddaughter, and scurried back home.

The End.

I hate when schools do that! So sorry you had to get back out in that snow. Take care and stay warm.

I'm glad you didn't go postal today.

Here in Ky you can usually count on 4-5 days off if there's an inch on the ground. School buses and hills are not a good mix.

Only an hour? I would have loved that high school when I was a teen!

I bet the only sad people were the parents/grandparents who had to go back to the school. Long live snow days!

Kaish went to school this morning. His was the only school district that decided to keep school open. He wasn't too happy about that. He is getting out early for parent teacher conferences but I am almost positive they will have early dismissal. The snow is really coming down. I was supposed to go to center city for court but I am WAY afraid to drive in the snow so I took a sick day!

At least you didn't have to walk to school barefooted and uphill each way.

Grandma J,
THANK YOU!!!!! My AbbaZaba candy bars came today. My fillings are being pulled out, but they are good. They remind me of another candy bar, called a 'Big Hunk'.

You are such a sweet heart!

Tell me your favorite flower, with color, and I'll try to paint a picture of it on a thank you card!
