So, today I decided to make some cookies for a couple of my Irish friends.

One  in particular is my neighbor Betty.   I know how much she loves her Irish heritage.

Then I let Margaret pick on the spoils.  Because she claims she's Irish too.

Mostly I honor my own Irish roots. Especially my paternal grandmother who came to this country alone....at the age of sixteen.  She traveled aboard the Oceanic from Queensland Ireland  to Ellis Island in June, 1900.

Thanks for making me smile this morning. As a matter of fact, I'm even laughing. You are a wonderful neighbor. The house next door to me might be for sale soon. Shall I reserve it for you?

What a woman your grandmother was...16?
Margaret should go easy on the cookies...she will get more 'junk in her trunk' than she wants.

Happy St. Pats to you!

Here's a favorite of mine...
Some Guinness was spilled on the barroom floor when the pub was shut for the night.
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse and stood in the pale moonlight.
He lapped up the frothy brew from the floor, then back on his haunches he sat.
And all night long you could hear him roar,'Bring on the goddam cat!'

Grandma J....did you know The Pioneer Woman just sold the rights to Black Heels to Tractor Wheels?? Sony bought it, and is making a movie with Reese Witherspoon as Ree, Im not kidding!

Could you use some of that retired-free-time of yours to shop around a movie about Great-Grandma coming from Ireland, or, your life or something....you know, help puff up that inheritance package you are leaving to your grandkids?

Margaret must be Irish. Is her last name McNugget?
