A to Z Mondays
...the edible edition

Brought to you this week by the letter P

For Pickle.  Which is really a cucumber that you do stuff to, and it becomes Pickled.

Here are some of Grandma J's favorite Pickles....

Jumping right to the head of the line is a scared pickle

Of course in 1972, scamming some of your son's Easter eggs for pickling is always a good idea.  This practice has since been outlawed.

And what's a meal without dessert....

Pickle Sherbet....a pregnant idea!

I know, you already figured out that Grandma J isn't a pickle lover.  Somewhat a no brainer, don't you think?

But....she is fixing to head on out on her third infamous road trip.  This is like no other road trip in history.   No books, no meet ups, and no sponsors. She will however, be driving a Ford with SYNC and satellite radio tuned to the 80's 60's.  Can you feel the excitement mounting?

Now please mosey on over to A to Z Mondays, hosted by Jen at unglazed for a plethora of P foods.

I once received a book as a gift called How To Tickle His Pickle but I really don't think it was talking about real pickles!

omg---pickled eggs got me in the most trouble I have ever had in my entire life & that was in the 1st grade. During the "Bring your Dad to School days" & someones dad ran the pickled egg place and we had to eat one per our teacher. That egg made me throw up in class and then I got a spanking for gagging on a pickled egg.........

I do love cucumber pickles though, they are my favorite diet snack. Full of salt but low on calories and carbs.

Don't mind the occasional pickle; not bad sliced on a burger or hot dog. Have a great road trip and enjoy that 60's music!

Just bought a huge jar of dill spears at Costco. It'll take me a year to get through them. Not sure what my motivation was on that one, but I do like a good dill pickle once in a while...

I'm not big on pickles, however I"m a firm believer that pickles should be big. And firm.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I like pickles OK, but whenever a pickle conversation ensues all I can do it think about my grandfather canning pickles when I was little.
