Once again I ask you to indulge me in some bragging.
Andrew flanked by his two sisters, Little One and Beauty
My ten year old, bald by choice grandson, Andrew reads Alex And The Amazing Lemonade Stand to all the preschoolers at his little sister's school. This is quite a large group considering there are several classes, each named after a different animal. This year Little One is an Owl, but there are Teddies, Butterflies, Froggies, Tigers, Penguins and Kangaroos!
The teachers said the kids listened intently as Andrew read the story about a four year old little girl with cancer, named Alex and her goal to raise a million dollars to find a cure selling lemonade. She reached that goal before passing away at the age of eight. Since then, her foundation, run by her parents has raised over 40 million dollars through Alex's Lemonade Stands across the country.
I love how Andrew brings awareness about love, caring and sacrifice to even the youngest children.

What an awesome boy you've got there, Grandma J.! Sounds like you've made a lot of memories with him, too--aren't grand kids the most wonderful beings in the world? (And everybody say, "AMEN!" I honestly can't think of mine without a smile coming to my lips--and these days, it's kinda hard to find a smile at times.
What a wonderful moment! You must be super proud!

I've heard of Alex's Lemonade Stands, but never all this story to go with them.
