She's Not a Gold Digger

An elderly Georgian woman was scavenging for copper to sell as scrap when she accidentally sliced through an underground cable and cut off internet services to all of neighboring Armenia,  That's right.....the whole friggin country of Armenia!!

The woman, 75, had been digging for the metal not far from the capital Tbilisi when her spade damaged the fiber-optic cable on March 28.

As Georgia provides 90% of Armenia's internet, the woman's unwitting sabotage had catastrophic consequences.   Now, aren't you glad you aren't a blogger from Armenia?

Web users in the nation of 3.2 million people were left drinking Russian vodka twiddling their thumbs for up to five hours as the country's main internet providers - ArmenTel, FiberNet Communication and GNC-Alfa – were prevented from supplying their normal service. Television pictures showed reporters at a news agency in the capital Yerevan staring glumly at blank screens.

So People......contact the people in the know before your dig!

This is a UNIVERSAL number to call except in the countries of Georgia and Armenia.

We are all about scavenging/selling copper wire. While doing irrigation installs, we install miles of copper wire. And there are always pieces left over and/or old wire systems that we can rip from the ground. This job, we just sold $1400 worth of copper!

Blue Nestles are "crunch" bars...filled with those rice krispie things...red Nestles are milk chocolate :) A world of difference to my palate.
