When It Rains in Texas

Grandma J spent all afternoon watching Ellen and Dr. Oz cleaning like the dickens....

paying special attention to her floors.
Because she was expecting some special friends.   This is a big deal because Grandma J lives in a community in Central Texas that is off the beaten path that very few friends even know how to find  because it's well.....off the beaten path.

Anyway, it started to rain for the first time this year, and except for the fact that Grandma J's friends would be traveling the dusty trail also known as  I35, she was thankful for the end of a long drought and brown grass.

Withing five minutes into the torrential downpour this happened.

This happened.......Grandma J's not so shinny, but clean floors became victim to the great flood of 2012 at the Spa. So, she put a crappy make-shift table in the corner for light.

And, she shoved all her furniture into one corner to minimize the damage to her own personal stuff.

Then her friends arrived!

My BFF Baylor Chica, Rachel, aka Snow White.   It was so nice to see her!   She brought a close friend of hers for Grandma J to hug meet.

That would be James!   As you can see, Grandma J was all giddy so happy to see them, and wished them both a wonderful summer back home with their families.  And, if you notice in the above photo,  wearing black opposed to a top that looks like it's splattered with love bugs, makes a person look so much slimmer!

The visit was short....but wonderful.  Can't wait for them to get back to Baylor.

xoxo Grandma J

How the heck did you have a flood in your house? At first, I didn't get it. From the photos, I just thought your floors were extra gleaming. I was a little jealous until I read again and realized that it was a flood.
So, you are hard to find, huh? I hope the postman can find you. I mailed something out this a.m.

At first when I saw your floors...I thought, my gosh, what shiny hard woods....I'm so sorry about the flood. Seems like you guys in Texas either have drought or floods...no happy median.

Oh my goodness! I'm sorry about the flooding there, Grandma J. I hope the water goes down quickly.

How wonderful to have visitors! I'm glad you had a nice time. I think the "lovebug" top looks quite nice! Pretty colors. :)

I'm sorry about the water problems. I hope none of your personal items get ruined and I hope you don't hurt yourself trying to move things and clean.
Beautiful photo and smiles - so glad you had a good visit.
