PRINCESSES ARE LIKE CHOCOLATE
You can't get enough of either
Or so it goes in the World of Fantasy at Disney. Does anyone remember when little girls had just three princesses to worship? Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Miss Piggy Snow White. Then of course with all things not being equal, Disney added several more like Pocahontas, a Native American, Belle who fell in love with a beast, Ariel, a mermaid, Jasmine, Aladdin's girlfriend, Mulan, who is Chinese...and who knows who else lives in the Magic Kingdom.
I do know that for over a year now, Disney has been making and re-making a movie called The Princess and The Frog. The main character is an African American Princess named Tiana. Originally her name was supposed to be Maddy, but that created a whole lot of bruhaha about stereotyping....whatever. Anyhow, Tiana, was supposed to be a chamber maid, but for previously stated reasons was re-characterized as a heroine. Tiana lives in Bayou Country where everyone has a French type name, like the villain, Dr. Duvalier, who is full of voodoo, fortune telling and magic spells all over the place.
Tiana is beautiful and a heroine in the greatest tradition of Disney.
The problem is, Disney had a descender of sorts. Remember little Alice in Wonderland? Well, she's been around from day one, and has yet been brought into the Princess Inner Circle. So after several visits to the ACLU Human Resources Department, she finally got her ranking as "Princess", and added to the annual group portrait.
I think that was a smart move, and I thought the Princess Circle was pretty much complete with the upcoming inclusion of Tiana. Not so fast! Minnie and one of her cohorts decided what's good for the goose is, well, see for yourself.
And if that wasn't bad enough, Disney is adding two more Princesses into the fold. Rapunzel, the princess and the movie, 2010. Then Princess Merida in the movie, The Bear and the Bow, 2011. So moms? Get ready for the demands for dresses, wigs, shoes, DVDs or Blu-Rays. Oh and for all of you who were worried sick....just a few possible fractures that the doctor wasn't sure about so he called in the radiologist who took a look at the xrays and said "Beats me", then left. So we are going to give it a few days for the swelling to go away, they they might be able to tell if the two shadows are indeed breaks. Thank you for being concerned. I just wish it wasn't my right hand, because that's the thumb I usually suck.
The gauze is between my two taped fingers to keep them from getting irritated from sweat! Isn't that explanation extremely scientific?
