I've heard talk about casinos in Oklahoma, close to the Texas border, so I did a
Different
Well, this relative knows someone who drives all the way to Lawton Oklahoma all the time, and it's not a hop skip and a jump. So like, I'm all where the heck is Lawton? Is that where the casino is? I mean Oklahoma is full of Native American casinos....
Instead of engaging in a civil conversation....the conversation was declared "over". And of course Grandma J thought to herself.....not so fast!
So, let's get to Grandma J's Tutorial, shall we?
This is a Google map generated from the Casino's web page.....pretty much a straight shot up the I35 all the way, getting off at exit 1 in Oklahoma. Of course, we all know Google likes to give written directions........
Because, Google doesn't want you to miss one single turn going from your home to the interstate. And according to them, the total miles is 217.
This second map shows the distance from Dallas to the final destination right smack across the Oklahoma border. Just a short jaunt of 79.2 miles.
Now if you didn't want to go to the Winn Casino in Thackerville, OK, you might want to go to Lawton. Especially if you have a friend or coworker who has family there, and makes the trip frequently......
Looks like a twenty mile difference if you travel to Lawton via Fort Worth rather than Dallas. And I guess the question Grandma J has is this.....after all is said and done, don't you think a 217 mile day trip to the Winn Casino is doable?

217 miles? That's cake. Especially if we're talking to go gamble!!
Easy Peasy. If you like to gamble...this is a no brainer. What time are we leaving?
ps. You win this ONE!!!!
Great blog Grandma J, I love it..
I'm having flashbacks to high school math class. I see numbers and a teacher. Right now, I look like a deer in the headlights.
If I think about the problem without numbers, my answer is this: I like Teacher J's dress and matching shoes.
217 has always been less than 331 in my book, unless we're measuring insects or something, and then less is actually more.
How bout figuring out Vicksburg MS we've got a plethora of gambling boats. Don't know if the ones on the gulf are back in business yet.
Merry Christmas granny j.
I think it is doable : ). I HATE driving though, so I would not do it, but if you don't mind driving I think you should go ahead and have a go at it : )! Just make sure you go with fun friends so your trip is exciting!
I think any distance for gambling is doable, especially if it's craps. However my recommendation is that you just fly to Vegas (it's probably the same time commitment)and then I can meet you there. :)
Good luck at the casino.
Hmmm...I thought I was the only hard-headed, anti-gambler in the family, so, not sure who you had the conversation with.
Save your gas, time, money and do something closer to home.
Just browsing through from DD2. I'm a grandmother also! Enjoyed playing the "bubbles"game!!
...and how many bloggers can you meet on the way? Well worth a road trip!

I'll meet you there if you go. I like the casinos in OK, and there are many.
