CRUIZ'N ON THE SIXTH

It rained all night on the fifth of July....I swear it was God's way of making sure all the fireworks embers were extinguished. So, on a cloudy Monday afternoon, on the sixth of July, a ride around the hood is in order.....right?

Grandma J mustered up the best pilot and navigator in the County, and off we go.....foot on the throttle, and tongue in the air eyes straight ahead.

Slowing at the corner, and checking for cross traffic....in unison!! That's how these two roll. And speaking of rolling....

JJ has a new GF who isn't wearing a seat belt....and no one noticed, especially Grandma J....until she downloaded this picture! Bad, Bad, all the way around. It's something all Grandma J's grandkids know enough to do without being told...but we forget to remind our guests sometimes.
JJ, shame on you, that's your job.

Last night, Grandma J wandered around the Spa grounds...and noticed the moon above all the vacant apartments down the lane. Can everyone agree that the moon is shaped like a heart? Do you know what that means? Maybe Phillip Johnny Bob is missing Grandma J?

Uh, yeah, right!!

Actually he does miss you, although he's keeping busy to distract himself. He does thank you for the much-needed break.

That particular day he really enjoyed himself. When a group of teenaged boys showed up, and I was squatting down taking pictures of a bear in a chair at the beach, they high-tailed it outta there.

They know crazy when they see it.

A heart moon? I love it.
I don't understand how some people can't wear seat belts. I would be like going with no undies. I feel naked!!!

On the sad front:
My MIL's niece was just killed this weekend as well as 2 other 20 year olds...no seat belt. I don't get it.

no seatbelt??? Gah! Scold that little one! Or is the the dog and we just can't see the seatbelt on your grand daughter.

I think you need to do a post about high speed chases in Texas....what do people think???

I would be willing to bet that the seatbelt is exactly where it is supposed to be, only JJ is blocking our view!

The seatbelt incident just reminded me of a story a friend recently told me...her husband was asked to take a fellow church member home from church one Sunday. Being the nice guy that he is, he agreed. When they got in the car the passenger wouldn't put his seatbelt. Even after being asked, refused. On the way to drop the passenger off, the driver (my friend's husband) got pulled over and received a ticket because the adult passenger didn't have his seatbelt on. When asked what he was supposed to do when someone refuses to put their seatbelt on, the officer replied, "Make him get out of the car!"

Did you make it to a matinee today?

I laughed out loud at CBW's story - just imagining the young men's reaction to the obviously mentally ill woman taking pictures of her stuffed bear at the beach!

GJ, will you still be blogging even while you're having a wild time at the July Blogfest? Your admiring readers need to be able to plan . . . .

I guess the little girl (who was a guest at my daughter's house) could have been wearing a seatbelt...I don't know, and don't condone not wearing one.

Pumpkin, I think the law in CA has changed, and if you are an adult passenger, and don't buckle, then you get the citation. Now I'm curious to know.

Karen, I plan on blogging from the blogfest, but it depends on the internet service available. CBW is on dial up, because I don't think highspeed internet is available....and the post office doesn't deliver to where she lives. I may be up to my knees in the bay shouting...."I found the internet". If I have access, I'll blog. Otherwise, you and my other two readers can get together and make rice krispie treats! LOL, I crack myself up, and that wasn't even funny.
