......the winding down of an excellent road trip
Grandma J has a ton of stuff to share with her blisters and blogster friends about her excellent road trip. Events like terrorist attacks and holidays have caused her to jump, skip and hopscotch around the whole docu-drama, but nothing can make her forget how much you are
So let's continue, shall we?
Since there are a ton of family interactions, Grandma J is going to skip over them for the time being, and share her last day on the road with you first. Just pretend we are traveling backwards in time....
After Grandma J left Tucson AZ, the home of Sonora style Mexican food, and an over population of Javalina's, she trekked 582 miles to the town of Fort Stockton, TX for the night.
The next day she spent some time looking around Ft. Stockton and came across Paisano Pete, the world's largest roadrunner.

Grandma J was almost too shy to ask some total strangers to take her picture with Paisano Pete!Just like years ago, she was almost too shy to ask a total stranger to take her picture with Paul Bunyon and Babe the Ox in Klamath CA. Some things about Grandma J never change!
Then it was back on the road......and 321 miles later....home!!!!
coming attractions include wayward shopping carts, race cars, and odd food choices.

I cant believe you wasted a whole page to say ...nothing....who cares about desert pics....get to the grandkids!!
I love to get strangers to take my picture with roadside attractions. My kind of trip, baby!!
Since when are Paul Bunyon and Babe Californians?

Check out Grandma's gams! And I love Stockton...because that's where all those Barkley boys lived. ;)
Love these pictures. I want to know more about Paisano Pete. Where were Crusty and PJB when Paisano Pete was lurking? I'll bet they were scared to death.
Speaking of being scared to death, are you sure that's a tail on Babe the Blue Ox?
You shy??? I would never have guessed. :) Love those short shorts....I had a pair similar.
BEEP BEEP.
I found your blog thu Professor of Lifes blog.
Great blog!
It sounds like you had a great time!! The pictures of you standing next to Paisano Pete and Babe the Blue Ox look neato.
Good lord, GrandmaJ! Could it be someone racing wayward shopping carts full of odd food choices?
Heh! Can't wait!
Loving your pictures! You shy?? Yeah right! Please tell me you were not in Walmart again with those wayward shopping carts.

Ha!!! this reminds me of the movie Michael with John Travolta--on the road trip back to Chicago he has to stop and see worlds largest frying pan and ball of twine.

Not to say that Grandma J in short shorts wasn't juicy! Cuz it was! Very juicy!
