...the ingestable edition

Brought to you this week by the letter
E

That's right, it's all about EGGS!   And boy, does Grandma J have a lot of baloney to tell you about eggs.

Let's start with a walk down memory lane and take a look at a few recipes from days gone by.  If these recipes don't ring a bell, it's because you are either too young to remember them, or they caused so much cholestoral in your arteries that they clogged your memory as well.

Either way, Grandma J wants to give you a virtual dose of Lipitor.

Grab your chest hat and let's go!

click on all pictures to enlarge because you can't read the yummy recipes unless you're Superman.

That's right, let's get cracking with a 42 cent lunch!  With the economy the way it is you could feed a small wedding reception, or the Duggars can feed their clan, including their daughter-in-law and new grandchild for under $10.

Can you hear your kids begging for this favorite combo?  Oh yeah, Spam, a meat product every vegetarian parent can appreciate.

And Grandma J never knew about French's time saving omlet seasoning....it's probably almost right up there with Taco seasoning.

Doesn't everyone serve their Holiday guest Cambelled Eggs?   All together now.....Mm, mm, Good!

Before we get carried away with too many tasty menu ideas....let's not forget that Eggs are more than brain food.

Who amongst us doesn't mourn the demise of the Egg shampoo?  Excuse me while I get a tissue.

Grandma J has just one question. Why has this recipe been keep from her all these years?  Has anyone tried this to keep from flipping or flopping?

If this little tutorial has renewed your distain love for Eggs in a big way, this may be for you.....

That's right.  A hen that will yield 200 Eggs a year.  I knew you'd love this!

Now, for those of you who haven't flown the coop...here's an egg cartoon to brighten your day.

If you are STILL with me....please go check out some saner edible E words at A to Z Mondays.   Better yet, why not join in?

The Campbells eggs have left a very bad taste in my mouth...worse than the spam.
I will get to work on my chicken/egg farm. I just don't know where to send all the poop.

Egg horror movie? So funny!!!

Hey Grandma J, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet comments.

I enjoyed your great use of "e". Seems to me Suave use to make an egg shampoo.

Happy day to you!

I'm still trying to find out exactly what goes into those cans of Spam. Not sure I actually WANT to know! And 200 eggs a year? Ouch?

Ahh! Love the screaming eggs!

I hope they put lots of sweet scents in that shampoo so that it didn't smell like a rotten egg! Talk about a bad hair day.

That first egg recipe got me all hungry for "egg in a hole". My family makes this for the kids by buttering a slice of bread and using a small plastic cup as a cookie cutter type thing to cut out a hole in the center of it. Then the bread and center piece are placed buttered side down in a hot skillet and an egg is broken into the hole. After the white sets up enough the whole thing is flipped for just a sec while the yoke cooks as long as desired. Salt, pepper, and voila! Yummy!

I DO love it!

In this family, my father has been known to serve clam eggs, which is Campbells clam chowder mixed with scrambled eggs. You're probably gagging right now, but actually it tastes divine.

That Spam, egg, cheese and mayo combo, however? I'd sooner eat that egg shampoo.

Did I tell you that my Daddy had chickens when we were growing up? Rhode Island Reds and black and white ones. I can not remember the name of them for the life of me. I will call my dad and ask him tonight.

Those Duggars perplex me.

I do not like eggs so this post made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

this is eggsactly why I like eggs.. so versatile ...

Jason, as himself said...

Yes, I have a love/hate relationship with eggs. But they certainly are versatile, and good for you, except for all of that cholesterol!

And that egg in the carton with a person's mouth and eyes is giving me the willies a little bit.
