Say Ahhhhh!

A while back, Grandma J had an episode of something diagnosed as strep.   She saw her doctor's PA who gave her a plethora of drugs.... sorry, I love that word plethora, and sent her on her way.

Then Grandma J went back a week later to see her doctor.   This is the doctor with all the theme examining rooms.

Like this one Grandma J was in last year.

This is not her doctor.....but if her doctor liked Ken dolls, it would look like this.   But, Grandma J's doctor doesn't like Ken dolls........

He collects GI Joe dolls.   This is one of many that are fully geared up and ready to protect and defend!

This is his Special Forces GI Joe with all his Special Forces stuff.

Yes, Grandma J's doctor has a vintage GI Joe lunch box.   It's mounted high on the wall like the rest of the collection, so Grandma J couldn't open it to see if there's a thermos inside.

Now, Grandma J's doctor does let his patients play with some of his GI Joe stuff......

This box, under the usual table with magazines, has a plethora of GI Joe body parts.  Grandma J  didn't have time to play with them check them out, but she did notice that quite a bit of  the clothing has been removed.  Maybe next visit she'll have time to put some of their boots back on.

What's in your doctor's examining room?

Is he a child of the 80's? : ) My brother used to love GI Joe. He is turning 30 next Wednesday. Not GI Joe, my brother : )

My dr's office is just for grown ups so there are no toys at all. Darn it. What is the use of going if you can't play with toys. Now Kaishon's pediatrician has the BEST toys on the planet : ) The only thing about them is I know they are COVERED in sick germs... I let him play anyway. What is one more germ when you already have a zillion?

Rats! My Dr. does not have anything fun in his exam rooms - just teeth that click and stomach parts puzzles etc. Hope you are feeling much better by now.

How cool is that!? All my doc has is two year old magazines and a germ covered Lego table that I wouldn't let my toddler touch with a ten foot pole.

Dang. Grandma J.'s doctor lets his patients play with naked GI Joes while they're waiting? What do they get to do to the doctor when he finally arrives? I didn't say that. But I thought it.

Is there a good reason why you go to a pediatrician?

My doctor's office has some old magazines and really ugly posters of various body parts.

I'm in England where you wait in the waiting room (for comparatively short periods of time) and the doctor is in the room when you get there, and mostly you sit in a chair and not on a frightening bed. And really it takes a lot less time. There are toys in the waiting room but I'm not sure what they are because there are children who insist on playing with them.

I still have to go back and read the rest of the post, as well as all others (because I can already tell I'm going to love them all), but I just had to tell you RIGHT AWAY that I also love the word "plethora." Along with "bamboozle" and "discombobulated" ... best words around!

My doctor has old magazines and a yucky poster about ear infections on his wall. He does have an Etch-a-sketch in the drawer though. :D
