Accidental Interruption

I was feeling blah, so I bought some flowers for myself.

Then I heard my phone summon me for a new text message.....

Maybe company's coming over.....

Maybe it's an invite, or an old friend ......

Or maybe it's none of the above.

Back to the flowers.

POTPOURRI
pot⋅pour⋅ri
[poh-poo-ree, poh-poo-ree]

noun

Today, Grandma J has a plateful of stuff to do. Stuff like get out of bed before ten color her three gray hairs, take a shower...after which she carefully dries between her toes, then straighten up the place before heading out the door by noon.

I know this tight schedule leaves some of you who go to work before the sun rises live leisurely lives, in a state of shock and awe, but Grandma J is getting used to it.

And, because Grandma J has a houseful of inanimate creatures of guests, and has to pick up her granddaughter who just spent a month frolicking along the So CA shore in Austin this afternoon, she is more than busy. Please Mr. Webster, create a word that best fits Grandma J's harried life.

I know what you're thinking....who cares, and please get to the point. OK, here's the point. To keep you busy and out of trouble, I want to leave you with two examples of Potpourri.

a mixture of dried petals of roses or other flowers with spices, kept in a jar for their fragrance still in a vase until they fall on the table.

Have you noticed how Grandma J decided to go tall with her flowers this week? If you squint, or maybe just close your eyes, you can pretend you are looking at a photo taken by her, or maybe her.

any mixture, esp. of unrelated objects, subjects, etc.

And just so you know, this bit of potpourri is at the request of Zach-a-Brow's mother, who reminded Grandma J that he had the best unibrow this side of the Rockies, and he's only seven!! I have to agree!

(Almost) SILENT SUNDAY

Texas is under a severe drought.....and no one is allowed to water their lawns. People are encouraged to narc on their neighbors.

Despite the drought, Grandma J found this blossom outside her back door this Sunday morning.

It's attached to this weed.....

In the back courtyard that's supposed to have a lush green lawn. So someone who might have some extra rain clouds, please send them to Texas before Grandma J's grandsons arrive from Colorado! Being cooped up with two active boys + A-Ron for a week could have serious consequences.

On a lighter note.....Phillip Johnny Bob talked Grandma J into buy him some new clothes....something from Dollar Tree fashionable.

Some surfer threads. He wanted me to make sure and show his good friend, Little T that he doesn't always wear dorky clothes with his shirt tucked in.

IF FLOWERS COULD TALK

Grandma J loves fresh flowers. Nothing fancy, just a colorful bouquet or two.

They are always on my grocery list, and HEB has them for $4 a bunch, and Walmart has them for $5.....they happen to fit in my budget.

These flowers have been in a room that I frequent often for exactly one week.

These have been in a room Grandma J frequents less often for the same amount of time.

The Pause That Refreshes!

Sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and forget to stop and smell the roses. But even when Grandma J stops to buy flowers every week smell the roses and plethora of flowers in Walmart the garden, nothing can make her smile more that a picture received on her cell phone........

Especially when it's a picture of Beauty proudly showing Grandma J her gorgeous smile minus her two front teeth. So today I want to share my smile, and Beauty's with you.

And of course it would be hard to not notice Beauty's big brother, Andrew, lurking in the background now, would it?

I Love Wednesdays

Wednesday is my favorite day to shop. I'm happy as a lark as I make my way across town, I hum happy hum stuff as I drive. The reason is because I'm a senior citizen and I love a discount. I know, you're shocked by that revelation. I don't go around asking for a senior discount like a few of my friends, because it's not a big deal at Golden Corral or Chili's.

But, when I go to
Kohls....did I tell you I love Kohls? I love Kohls more on Wednesday than I do on Tuesday. So, back to what I started to say...when I go to Kohls I get extremely excited because Kohls has a 15% senior discount on Wednesdays....on top of any other discount or clearance price. Everything in the store is mine for an additional 15% off.

But my elation doesn't end there.....I head on down the road to
HEB. Of course you remember how much I love this grocery chain. Remember the HEB stands for her enormous butt Howard E. Butt, the founder's youngest son.

I buy these flowers for $4 a bunch....and I get a bunch of greens for another $4. Nothing cheers me up like fresh flowers. On my way home I picked up my pal......

I don't like it when Phillip Johnny Bob dresses like a thug. Geesh!
