Do They Think We Don't Notice?

Once a year you can buy one of my favorite flavors of ice cream.  It's not the pumpkin pie flavor, or the Santa's Helper Scoop-a-Doop-o'-Poop.  It's this one......

Peppermint Candy.

Just once a year, and Dreyer's has it in stores early for me this year.  Next month Dairy Queen with have a Blizzard with added chocolate chips. Grandma J always tells them....hold the chococate chips, heavy on the peppermint candy, por favor.

There is a problem though. This year Dreyer's is trying to pull a fast one. Has anyone else noticed that their half gallon container is only 1.5 quarts?  What is with  this?  Kind of like the coffee companys short changing us on their packaging.

Here's a little gem for you, courtesy of my son-in-law.

Daddy says 'Little One don't eat the crackers we are having dinner.'

Little One says 'I'm not. Just licking them' ....as she places them back in the box....

I love me some peppermint ice cream on top of flourless chocolate cake;) And I love me some little one licking her crackers, too;)

My youngest granddaughter went with her family to Cracker Barrel for supper the other night. She asked why they didn't bring crackers with her supper. She is 3! I love the 'kidisms'. The peppermint ice cream looks wonderful. I wonder if our store will have it?

Deception, deception.

I notice you don't short change yourself when you dish out the peppermint ice cream.

I hate when they do that. If I purchase ice cream, I want the full half gallon!

We have Bryers, but not Dyers...now I want me some peppermint ice cream!

Pumpkin pie ice cream, not at all good. Shopping hungry = bad purchases. My kids and husband said 'what were you thinking'

Oh they cut back the half gallon from 1.75 quarts to 1.5 quarts a while ago.

P.S. Are you coming for Super Bowl? Sorry we missed you this trip but I know you were busy with the family and you were sick.

I have heard about this lunacy recently....that is such a rip off. I say, take your spoon to the grocery store and help yourself to some 'samples'!!!

Your Dreyers must be what is Edy's on the East Coast? I'm just guessing because I've never heard of it, but Edy's is packaged the same color scheme.

Also, my father has educated my two children on how ice cream containers have shrunk over the years and how they're really not getting such a bargain when it's buy one get one free, because both packages are smaller than they used to be.

Pass the peanut butter chocolate, please. And I'll take two licks of the cracker but would prefer one that has not been previously licked. Gotta love it.

I know! It seems like everything is getting smaller and it wouldn't be so bad if they would leave the price the same, but making the packaging smaller AND raising the prices is just not fair!

Oh my gosh that Little One is too funny!

Sadly, and I do mean SADLY, I saw Hagan Daz on sale at the market for 1.99. That is such a steal. So I tried a new flavor. Peppermint bark. I am SAD because it is completely gone and very SAD that I adored it. Adored it like no other.

Why oh why do I love sugar?

I totally know what you mean about the product being smaller. They are doing that with fish sticks too. Darn it!

i wouldn't of noticed the shortage... i never have learned the differences between a liter, gallon, quart, jug...

I'm surprise the container doesn't say fewer calories and less fat on it then.
Yes, they think we are stupid.

Sheesh can a dad not tell the difference between eating and licking?

You can have my share of peppermint everything .. except toothpaste where in my opinion it actually belongs ...
