MONDAY MATINEE...
formerly Friday Matinee on Monday

You know I love you when I keep my commitment to you, and take time out of my busy schedule to go see this movie.
THE HAPPENING Don't get too excited because I think someone owes me big time. I mean really! I feel like I just flushed two hours of my life down the toilet. OK, I know the movie wasn't that long but I'm including travel time.
And of course, since it's not Valentine's Day, you are probably curious as to why I would post in RED. Well, reader, I will tell you. Red stands for this:

Do not pass GO!
and this:

that only made me want to go in the water more.

or this, which is why I don't wander off the main roads in Florida.
Whoopsie Daisy!

So have you figured out how I felt about The Happening? Honestly, I didn't want to do two negative reviews out of three, but I couldn't find anything redeeming about this film. Plot? Someone please tell me what it was. Suspense? Except for the first few suicides....nada. And for the record, I don't like suspense or scarey movies because I hide my face, or close my eyes while I plug my ears and say, la, la, la, la....really loud. But this movie didn't faze me. It was poorly done and almost laughable

My advice to you readers is buy a couple of gallons of gas instead.

I won't be posting tomorrow or the next day (Tues, Wed, oh yeah, and maybe Thursday)....or never if I win some huge jackpot. Because in case I haven't mentioned it before, I'm heading to Las Vegas Baby!

I still want to see The Happening. I love eerie stuff like that. The only thing that scared me was the warning about slipping on a banana peel! LOL

Have fun in Vegas..and remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Unless you are Grandma J and you have a blog.

Have a ball in Las Vegas, Grandma J. Hope you win BIG! Then you can buy your own private jet and come visit HSH et al. directly, without the inconvenience of stopping in Dallas or anywhere else.

Plus, if you win lots of $$$$, you can do that many more exciting sidetrips on your Alaskan cruise, which will all cost you a small fortune (but are often worth it, b/c hey -- how many trips to Alaska are you going to make?)

I thought this was supposed to be a great movie....suspenseful and haunting, and really well done. TOTALLY disappointed (not that we ever go to movies that dont have singing cartoon characters....)

Doug was just talking about that movie this morning. He said that he heard it was all about people killing themselves, like even children (is that true, about the children I mean). Anyway Doug was wondering why anyone would even go see it.
We went to see Ku Fu Panda on Friday, I think William picked better then you.
Have fun in Lost Wages.

I must live under a rock because I haven't even heard of that movie : ) but now, if I crawl out from the rock and go to the movies, I absolutely, positively will NOT see that movie : ).
PS I hope you win a million dollars in Las Vegas!

GJ - Enjoy your time off and good luck in Vegas!!

Don't feel bad about panning that movie. Call me weird, but I find good movies to be exceptionally rare, and most of them are horrible. That's why I don't even bother with the theater anymore. Actually I don't bother with movies anywhere because all my waking hours are consumed by internet/blogging addiction.

Enjoy yourself!!!

Rebeckah, GF, I would never have seen that movie, let alone heard of it either if it weren't for my duty to my readers to review a movie every week.

Carol Z., yeah, people commit suicide, but I thought there'd be a logical explanation or something in the end. Besides, I did Hulk last week, and Indiana Jones the week before. Before that it was all girlie fluff stuff, so I was trying to be versatile. I want to see Kung Fu Panda...maybe next.

CBW, thank you for your kind thoughts about me not wasting my time off, but I don't get any time off. I'm retired 24/7. Isn't that a bitch? When I was a productive member of society, I saw maybe one movie a year if I was lucky and someone insisted I go.

Oh Crap, it wasn't good? Wasn't that hunky Mark Wahlberg in it. He's hot.
That M. Night Shamalama Ding Dong has been bombing at the boxe office with his last few films.

Just an update.....

Grandma J's flight has been cancelled.....she said the other folks were being moved to flights for later tonight....but she, being resourceful, pulled out a bit of a tantrum and got another flight, just a couple hours later, on a different airline.

Way to go Grandma J, have fun, and if you win big, dont forget your favorite, er, I mean, oldest daughter.

My BF saw that movie too and absolutely hated it!! She couldn't even enjoy Marky Mark because his acting was so horrible.

I'm a bit behind, but have you seen Sex in the City yet?? FABULOUS!!!!
