Countdown to Christmas.....

Yesterday was caaa.raaazzzz.eeeee.

As is the custom, because we've done this exactly twelve one year in a row, my granddaughter and I, with JJ in tow, made our way to HEB to pick up the final ingredients for our traditional, signature, Christmas pile of goop Rice Krispy Treat Wreaths.

We needed everything but ribbon and marshmallows.....for real. And when all was said and done......

This was the damage done to Grandma J's social security check Roth IRA, or better known as my estate. and just in case you think I'm a prudent shopper the coupon savings is $1.48, not $148.

Of course, we bought some stuff for dinner, because we would still be working on our Christmas Wreaths well into the evening hours....and because my grandson knows I make the best babyback ribs evah!!

This is the assembly line.....waiting for the finishing touch.

This is the Director of Traditional, Signature Christmas Wreaths...sitting for a photo op putting the finishing touch on the project.

By "finishing touch"....I mean just that!

Here is an up-close look at what Middle Daughter will be passing out to her co-workers and the doctors she works with. She is such a suck-up! considerate, generous person.

Merry Christmas!

Very nice Middle Daughter! Now I am hungry for some baby backs and a weath!

BTW, our Christmas gifts arrived yseterday Grandma....The kids boxes are under the tree, since my stuff wasnt wrapped, (and because in typical Grandma J style, you had already told me what you got me!) mine are not under the tree...both fit nicely, and my clean floors thank you!

I peaked at the kids' boxes, to help determine what they will open tonight (a Christmas Eve tradition - that My Honey doesnt like - of opening one gift on Christmas Eve)...they'll be opening Jammies...so they can wear them to bed! They look adorable!

Your gifts were actually mailed off this morning, no kidding! Merry Christmas.

BTW, too bad you werent on our Polar Express Journey (yesterday's blog)....you wouldnt have believed how distraught Pooper was when he realized the train was travelling slowly, through farm land!

I see you bought Stewart's cream ale. I love cream soda. Yeah, and bacon bits and sour cream so you had baked potatoes? Maybe you had loaded mashed potatos.
Now, I'm hungry.

BAby back ribs? If I hop a plane right now I should be able to make it for supper. Set me a place at the table.

HSH, glad you liked the gifts. The stuff not wrapped where extras so they weren't wrapped.

Jlo, I meant to do a post last week when I made wreaths for the Christmas potluck, luncheon, party here at the compound but I forgot to take pictures. No, I didn't go to the party, I just sent a contribution...too much flatulence and gum-slapping there for me.

If I can get a head count, I'll make you one next year.

Merry Christmas!!

FYI, the wreaths are about 12-14 inches across. You can make individual ones too (great for classroom projects). I use 3" RIBBON. There are a zillion different rice krispy shapes like the cookie monster, pumpkins, shamrocks, red hearts. very simple.

Merry Christmas!
