Spring Break On The Home Front

Yesterday Grandma J spent time with the girls who didn't go to Cancun, or Cabo San Lucas to lay on the beach and party at night. They didn't want to hang out at a ski resort, taking to the slopes by day, soaking in hot tubs under the stars at night.

That's right, while other pretty girls were frolicking in the surf, these beauties were baking and decorating cupcakes and mini cupcakes for Easter!

That's because tomorrow they are sending an Easter Basket to
SGT John in Iraq. Some of you are wondering why I would take a picture with the pantry door open...showing all the Mac & Cheese, chips, and other good stuff like Chees-Its. Well, the door was closed...

But remember these dudes? The ones who accused Grandma J of trying to poison them with her homemade fortune cookies? Yeah, these boys were hiding in the pantry and came running out...not wanting to be involved in any of Grandma J's baking extravaganzas ever again.

cute pics.

Are they making those mini cupcakes as seen on another POPULAR blog?? Im tellin' ya, the tempering machine is a must for you guys...you can do all kinds of stuff with real chocolate, no more faux-waxy wafers. You can see it on my blog...those easter chocolates are made with the tempering machine (which is the size of shoebox, and VERY SIMPLE).

Hmmm. Cancun or Cooking with Grandma J....that's a tough one, but it looks like the girls made the right decision.

However, don't worry about bringing any of those poisonous--I mean delicious--cupcakes to Blog Fest this summer. BHE and I will have the food under control.

You are such a GREAT Grandma! Just exactly the kind I hope to be! Those cupcakes look very delightful! That looks like even more fun than frolicking on a sandy beach in warm sun.....or not!

I love the fact that the pantry door is open.............gives us all a lil peek into your life.
I'm just not sure what to do with that peek.

Does Sgt. John get to read the blog in Iraq? If not, send him a printout of the updates and all the well-wishes in the world!

What a lovely group of kids you have there...I suppose you will be going through lots of food. Who needs Mexico when you can party down at Grandma J's????

Remember me for flat Caroline. :)
