OK, here it is, the contest you have all been waiting for. Last October, Grandma J had a contest to name her beloved bear, that she referred to as Astro Bear. With a $25 Walmart Gift Card as the prize, lurkers clamored out of the wood works with names like Apollo, Bernie, Sam and BB.
The winning name was drawn from Astro Bear's helmet by A-Ron....and that name was Phillip Johnny Bob! The winner was Mila @ Life With Kaishon.
This new contest is to pick a name for Grandma J's crab. The crab that came back to Texas with Grandma J only to suffer under the teeth of JJ. After some rehab back in his home state of Virginia, crab is back in Texas....in dire need of a name.
Now, besides having a little bit of a dark side, and of course being afraid of dogs, and prone to attacking bears.......
Crab doesn't like baths or fresh water in general.
Crab loves looking in mirrors....crazy crab!
Now....it's time to name that crab! Please, just one entry per person, and the contest will end at 3 PM, PDT on Thursday. This will give everyone time torub two brain cells together come up with a fancy shmancy name for the newest member of Grandma J's family here at the Spa.

I debated this all day and could not come up with one that jumped out at me, although I will tell you that CW's entry of Crusty was my first instinct and one I deliberated all day long and kept coming back to,so I have to say that's a good one, but since it's been taken it is not my entry. (Go CW!)
After debating Jimmy (which is the name for a male blue crab) and Ches (for Chesapeake Bay Crab, which is also listd above as Chester which I like), I am going to submit a very weak choice of Salty.
Blue crabs love salt water, and this crab seems to have a very salty disposition, what with getting into two fights and all. I'm not in love with the name, but that's my final answer.
Now, I will also say that daryl's entry of Bud has a certain charm to it as well...as does MPM's Gwynn.
Lots of good submissions! Roz at the Island Market doesn't even know that the squeeze toy she sells is now a world-famous internet star!

My three choices have already been made, and by people I actually know in real life.
Gwynnie was my first choice, and when I saw it was taken, Bud or Buddy. That was taken too. Then there's the ubiquitous Crusty and that's taken. And then I saw Salty.
And I really like Salty. And my brain is tired now.
I think it's a girl and her name is Virginia.
I think a crab should be named Louie.
Being a Maryland girl, I want to name him dinner, but I'll be nice.
You already have an A Ron, so how about Bay Don?
P.S.- I was at the beach this past weekend, and there was a shop on the boardwalk that had a basket of these crabs out front for sale! Must be all his friends!
Oiy Grandma J...what if I've not got two brain cells to rub together! Besides, I can't have my wee brain cells getting cozy with one another like that. What would the neighbors think? Oh that's right, they've not got any!
I'll come back to this in the morning. He was after all, a rather cheeky little crab, getting into all sorts of mischief if I recall correctly. But I'd had an awful lot to drink...so maybe my memory is a bit foggy. Will give it a think or two...

Krabby Paddy - an Irish version of the Sponge Bob Character. Likes Guiness and Harp. Or being cooked in Guiness or Harp!
