DOUBLE DUTY

I had a feeling Game 5 would be cancelled due to rain...but nope..a little bit of a delay here and there...with some work by the grounds crew, and then it was "PLAY BALL"

It looked like the Phillies had it wrapped up, then in the top of the sixth inning, the Rays scored....tying it up, 2-2.

The umpires called a rain delay around 10:30 PM, and the infield was covered...I don't know, it's after 11 PM, and the rain isn't letting up.

*****UPDATE*****

Game 5 will resume in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday on FOX at 8 p.m. ET, weather permitting.

So, when the Fat Lady sings, you know it's in the bag.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really got caught up in what could be the final game, and yet I was also watching Monday Night Football...and Dancing With The Stars.
I have to say, DWTS was extremely boring. I know, it was probably just me. I mean, I was really into both games.
When they got around to the Olde School Hip Hop group dance, I tried to give it my undivided attention....Then Cloris came bouncing out with a boom box the size of New Hampshire on her shoulder!
I love the woman, and there is so much to admire...but really, she's getting on my last raw nerve. I feel guilty saying that because I couldn't do what she does, and she's old enough to be my mother. Seriously, I try doing Richard Simmons, "Sweatin to The Oldies" vol 2, and after ten minutes I need a break.
It's sad, so sad because I really like her as an actress, and she's sweet. Please tell me I"m not the only one who feels this way?
**Now don't forget to submit a name for my little Bear. See him over there in the column on the right? The little slide show? The winner gets a huge Walmart gift card valued at $25. Contest ends this Friday at noon PDT.
HE TAGGED ME......
My good friend Jason, from The Jason Show......featuring Executive Producer, Diego, who wants to come see my boa constrictor, tagged me.
The subject is Values. I'm supposed to Name Six Things I Value. So here I go.
.
My Family...no surprise here. The Fruit of my Looms, sprung from my womb. My four children, their spouses, and my ten grandchildren are my life.
With eighteen birthdays a year, it's not exactly a gaggle that can be ignored. They make me laugh, and cry. they make me proud, and I embarrass them. This is the order of things. This is something I value.
My Faith...Some people don't understand faith.
I have my chosen faith community, but real faith is accepting that which you believe to be true without demanding logic. Faith is not blaming God for evil and misfortunate tragedy, but believing and trusting in his plan and promise of salvation. This is something I value.
My Health....I value my health, and I'm thankful for genes that are forgiving of all my bad habits. I value the medical field that does their best to heal what it can, and make livable what it can't. Every day I tell myself I'm going to take better care of myself, but sometimes I'm hard of hearing. My health is something I value.
My Freedom.....I am proud to be an American, No other country affords it's citizens all the freedoms I have. I thank our troops daily. Literally I do. I live in a military town, and hardly a day goes by that I don't say "thank you" to a soldier. I value my freedom.
My Stuff.....You knew something superficial was coming, yes you did. But it's true, I love my stuff. I love my car, and when I realized it was seven years old, I could hardly believe it. I've never had a car more than five years. So, even though I love it, I'm looking to get a new one...so I can spread the love. I also love my laptop, camera, awesome phone and Starbucks.
My JJ. Well, he's not mine really, but I love him, and he loves me. I value God's creatures.
I'm not posting a list of things I don't value. What I don't value, others might hold dear. So, it's a matter of choice and tolerance.
Now, I'm supposed to tag six people. This meme has been around the block twice...so I leave it up to you. Let me know if you decide to do it!!
YOU'VE GOT MAIL!
....good mail
That's what the mailman said to me yesterday, in front of a bunch of jealous residents here at The Compound.
First of all, I got something from Virginia. It's from one of my favorite
East Coast bloggers... Are you ready for this? Are you sitting down?
It's a Happy Fall card from my BBF, Cooper! Can you believe he has photo cards for FAll? Can you believe he sent one to Grandma J? Thank you Cooper! I love you.
Next, I received my winning tote from
The Fishn Mama's recent contest!
Check out her blog, it's one of my favorites. Thank you,
The Fishn Mama!
Last but not least...I received a box. A big box.
It's my CPAP contraption that the doctor ordered after my sleep study. I used it last night, and I don't know if it worked or not because I woke up at 5:30 from my cell phone alarm going off. This happens whenever I use it to wake up, it goes off everyday there after! I didn't go to bed until 2 a.m., so this was very inconvenient. I eventually got up at 8 a.m. with welts on my cheeks from the mask straps, and the thing that goes in my nostrils stretched them out to double their size.....or that's how it felt.
I'll try it again tonight.
So...what did your mailman bring you?
* don't forget to vote in my World Series poll!!
