Tuesday Trivia........on Wednesday

Yeah, as Rita would say, always a day late and a dollar short.   But Grandma J never really gave much credence to such silly talk.   Besides, sometimes we sleep in  get  sidetracked.  So, instead she will continue with her trivia x 2 to make up for her tardiness.

First things first.....Grandma J is humbled by all the well wishes for her migraine.   Seriously, it knocked the beegeezus out of her.   The funny thing is, she gained .6 lbs.    But the point is, thank you all for being there.

Grandma J went to see a "special" headache doctor in Austin because the vet recommended him.   He gave Grandma J some samples of a wonder drug, and a prescription to fill.   Grandma J went home, took the medicine and went to bed.  After three doses and plenty of ice cream sleep, she feels fine.

The headache doctor did mention acupuncture as an alternative to drugs if the headaches come back frequently.   Since Grandma J is already overly medicated doesn't like to take drugs,   she looked up acupuncture in her home town.  She found one really close to JJ's day care, so she drove by and thought maybe she had the address wrong, so she double checked.  The address was right, and this is what she saw...........

OK......raise your hand if you think Grandma J should try acupuncture.   AND.....do you think it's cheaper during happy hour?

I never tried that. I used to love my chiropractor though. He was heavenly! I am so glad you feel better. You are the best!

I say give it a whirl! You may not be able to move your face correctly but if it gets rid of the pain, it is worth it!! :)

I'd say yes to trying acupuncture, but I'd so no thanks to Botox! HA! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better.

Glad you are some better. I always loved a visit to the chiropractor and his massage therapist when I had bad headaches.

I think I'd go for "free acupuncture"--since I don't think my insurance pays for it, and of course, that isn't free either....(what IS, except FOR headaches!).My pain management doctor actually wanted to try Botox injections for my neck and head and face pain (yes, I'm actually lucky enough that my face hurts too, and most likely, other people actually ache to look at it, as well, poor things!) I think I'd have tried the Botox injections, but my dumb ol' insurance wouldn't pony up for it. A lot of people have gotten relief with it.

Glad YOUR medicine helped, but I understand your reluctance to take things for pain. I usually wait so long to take mine that what I have to take doesn't help as much as it would. I hate to take it---but I hate hurting more.

Glad you're better. Isn't it nice to have friends who care--you seem to have made a bunch of friends!

Well, I say acupuncture is definitely worth a try. Works for some. Sadly, it didn't work for me, although I tried it lots for migraines when I was pregnant. They have lots of different things they do at the acupuncturist - cupping, sending little electrical charges through the needles once they're in - I can't remember all the variations. And, since you showed the nifty little Botox sign, I'll tell you that story. I've basically tried most every possible prophylactic there is for migraines - nearly every epilepsy drug, heart medicines, and yes, even Botox. Again, the Botox didn't help prevent my migraines at all, but I understand that for some people it's magical! My biggest hope though, is that your migraines just go far, far away and never come back!

I am concerned that you visited a headache Dr. based on a recommendation from the vet. :0
I don't like drugs either...so I would try the needles in the face procedure...but only if you get photos to share.
Glad you are feeling better!

Happy hour and Botox? Seems like one should relieve a headache.

What a funny sign! Is this in Killeen, Grandma J? Must be one of the new businesses in the area. Don't tell me it's in Market Heights. LOL
